Mamų unija needs your help!

“Mamų unija“ a charitable organization in Lithuania collects funds for a children’s cancer ward and supports the children and their families whose treatment may not be covered or must be done outside Lithuania. Other organizations work with Mamų unija to provide bedding and organize special events for the children and their families. Children’s drawings have been formatted into cards. IX North American Lithuanian Song Festival

Youth choir members Karolina and Gabriele model "Arija" t-shirts that were specially designed for the the festival.

The IX Lithuanian Song Festival took place in Toronto on July 4th and over 30 singers and chaperones from Ottawa's "Arija" attended. Over 1,000 singers participated in the festival from 58 choirs and five countries. Over 2,500 spectators attended the Sunday concert.

"Amžių sutartinė 2009" DVD

A limited number of professionally filmed and produced DVD's by the Lithuanian Folklore Centre Lithuania's Millenium Song Festival "Amžių sutartinė 2009"  are available from Ruta Klicius. Cost: $15.

This DVD is produced in English and Lithuanian and depicts the special events that were held in Lithuanian last summer.  A fabulous reflection of history, culture, and tradition.

Matthew and Katie Brikis

Brikis Weddings

Congratulations to newlyweds Matthew and Katie Brikis who were married on August 14 at Christ Church Cathedral in Ottawa. Matthew is Eddie and Diane's eldest son.   "Arija" women's choir sang during the ceremony that was attended by over 100 relatives and friends. The newlyweds work and live in Toronto.
