Mamų unija needs your help!

“Mamų unija“ a charitable organization in Lithuania collects funds for a children’s cancer ward and supports the children and their families whose treatment may not be covered or must be done outside Lithuania. Other organizations work with Mamų unija to provide bedding and organize special events for the children and their families. Children’s drawings have been formatted into cards. Lenten

The 2010 Lenten retreat will be conducted by Rev. Laurynas Grikietis who is visiting from Kaunas, Holy Spirit Parish and chaplain for Holy Spirit High School. It will be held on Sunday, February 28, 4 p.m., St. George’s Church, 415 Piccadilly (off Richmond Rd. near Island Park Dr.). A pot-luck social will follow and ask everyone to contribute.

Independence Day Celebration

Lithuania‘s Independence celebration was held on February 13 at the Latvian church hall. Paulius Kovas and his wife Nijolė Narmontaitė from Lithuania participated with an entertaining program. Paulius shared his first-hand experiences sailing with “Ambersail“ for two legs of the Millenium voyage. Nijolė performed several songs and presented characters from “Café Immigrant” series.
